At the start of the pandemic,  thousands of families like mine found ourselves stranded from each other, not knowing when we’d be in the same city, state, or even time zone again. But for me, I decided to use it as a time to bond with my kids through music, highlighting t a “BT 2012 Mix” of the Smashing Pumpkins, and hence, DJ CK was born.

Curated and sent out to family and friends daily, my playlists began as an effort to insert element of hope into these otherwise trying moments of separation, disconnection, and loneliness. I wanted to remind my kids that we can still remain connected every day in this small way. 

Over the next two years, the playlists have evolved tremendously. I work across all genres, and compile playlists based on genre, song title and lyrics, local events, world news, and holidays. Listeners can expect a wide array of styles and genres.

My playlists are meant to connect listeners to each other and remind us of what makes us human: our emotions, our common humanity, and our ability to be kind to one another.  My hope is that when you listen to one of my playlists,  they don’t only offer the flavor of a place and time in history, but enable us to consider the global human experience and see a reflection of our own circumstances in Tampa, and how we can all be a little more empathetic, kinder, and upbeat, if only we let the music move us.
